FAMILY CAREGIVER, 2000-2010
- Initially cared long-distance with some home care support, and ultimately chose to provide hands on support to my mother who was diagnosed with dementia. Her physician credited me in writing with improving her quality of life due to my oversight and care.
- Experience with all facets of inhome care and familiar with medical billing including private pay and Medicare, as well as respite care and respite grants.
- Firsthand experience with dementia care, in-home care, hospice, palliative, and end-of-life care. Took care-giver courses and also took seminars through the Alzheimer’s Association in Minnesota and Wisconsin, as well as other support organizations in the community.
- Created Caring Bridge website when she was declared in hospice. Updated regularly during the seven months before the end of her life on earth. - Created “Ode to Dode, With Love, Kitty” digital story, which was shown at her Memorial Service luncheon while people waited in line for their food. Also entered in the 2010 Neuro Film Festival.
- Wrote “Angel Lights” for local Holiday Memories contest in the Eau Claire Leader-Telegram, and it was published on December 19, 2010.

- Community Relations Director, newly created position eliminated due to unexpected budget constraints.Successfully completed annual community survey and gift basket delivery to 400 constituents, secured positive media coverage in Eau Claire Leader-Telegram, created marketing plan, and database, made 40 cold sales calls.
